BREAKFAST TO GO
Keep party
food light, easy, and portable,
left.
A coffee bar with creative stir-ins—
marshmallows, white and dark
chocolate chunks, ground cinnamon
and cardamom—is just right for a
weekend morning gathering. Thick
slabs of quick breads in waxed
paper bags (available in the candy-
making aisle of a crafts store) make
it easy to munch and browse.
PAPER POWER
Let a roll of colorful
wrapping paper do the heavy lifting
for the party decor. Use it on the
invitation, on the display table, and
under the refreshments setup. ®

1 THINK IN SETS
of several similar items. Glasses and
dishes are obvious sets, but also consider a stack of
board games or a few same-size sweaters. Tie them up
with ribbon to indicate they go together.
2 MAKE A BOOKSHELF
by turning a cardboard box
on its side, and use the top of the box to display
another swap item. Put bulkier items toward the center
of the table and smaller items around the perimeter.
3 TRY THESE IDEAS, TOO
Drape textiles such as
tablecloths and blankets over a portable clothes drying
rack. Gather up belts or scarves in a basket. Hang
clothing on doorknobs or door frames.
